Project Description

We are happy to announce our first ETA Creative Project for 2021! We are looking for poetic participants aged 16-19 to submit a collection of one to three poems on the theme of “Poetry for Our Times.” How you interpret this theme is as wide open as your imagination and creativity will take you, though we will leave a few suggestions here to help get you started.

  • What has your experience been like during the COVID-19 pandemic?
  • How do you feel about the global social movements for equality, especially for race, LGBTQAI+ and social class?
  • What is the view like from your room’s window that you’ve spent so much time in?

Instructions

Please send us a minimum of ONE and a maximum of THREE of your best poems on this theme (in pdf file format please). The type of poem (free verse, sonnet, limerick, haiku, etc.) is entirely up to you! However, we ask that you do not submit a poem that is longer than two pages in length.

The submission form for your poetry can be found at the bottom of this page under “Upload Your Poem.” PLEASE MAKE SURE YOU HAVE ATTACHED YOUR POEM(S) BEFORE SUBMITTING! If you have any questions regarding this project or others, please contact our Creative Projects Coordinator, Willow Schroeder, at willow.schroeder@europe-tutorial.com .
