Philosophy is the systematic inquiry into fundamental questions about the nature of existence, knowledge, good, right, and beauty. It seeks to address these questions based on reasoning and critically evaluates the assumptions and conclusions of empirical disciplines. Students engaging in philosophical activity improve their clear and critical thinking skills through reading, analyzing, and discussing philosophical works and problems and learning how to form arguments and write philosophical essays. Acquiring and enhancing these skills help them express themselves more clearly and successfully in speech and writing and perform better in any theoretical subject they study. Philosophically trained students will therefore be equally and greatly appreciated by natural science, social science, arts, and humanities departments. The Europe Tutorial Academy currently offers pre-university courses in Philosophy for A-level and International Baccalaureate Diploma students, as well as Enrichment Workshops and Study Retreat Programmes.
